Unbelievable!

I drove from Black Hawk, CO to Colorado Springs yesterday and averaged 36.7 mpg! Nuff said.

Warranty for used better than for new!?!?!

I got my "Certified Preowned" warranty paperwork from the dealer. He explained to me that instead of just getting the 3/36 warranty that comes with a new car... I get the remainder of the 3/36 and an additional 2/24 warranty that takes effect after the factory warranty. Doing the math, I get a four year warranty on my car! Score!

Washboard dirt roads...

Yeah, that's about as boring as the whole drive was. The drought has hit this area pretty bad.
It's interesting to me that my car is rated for 30 MPG Highway.

Still have not gone for a drive with my wife in the new car. I guess that is what happens when you buy her a new SUV the same day.

Setting up the SD card for the stereo... Mirrors

I like the stereo setup. It takes an SD card and being a photography buff I had a spare sitting around.



I put a simple Artist>Album folder structure together and stuffed it with mp3 files. It works awesome. I am pleased that the card doesn't stick out very far. I've seen quite a few USB ports in cars where they expect you to leave a thumb-drive sticking out of your dash, that's super lame.



I installed (clipped on) my custom wide view mirror. It makes it possible to see everything behind you.


It is nearly twice the width of the factory mirror it is clipped to.

Springtime in Colorado Springs

The weather forecast is BLIZZARD for today. I'm looking forward to seeing how well the Beetle does on slippery roads. It has a traction control system built into it.
